About August De Laat
August de Laat (1882 - 1966) was a celebrated Dutch singer and humorist with over 350 songs to his name. His powerful voice and clear diction made him popular with the public, the emerging gramophone labels and Dutch radio services during the 1920s and 1930s. He worked with the band "The Ramblers" and released some of his work as August de Laat & The Ramblers. His real name was Gosewinus Cornelius de Laat.
