About Ape On The Roof
A musical project by Aghi Narottama and Utari Syaukat Ape on the Roof was started as a collaborative project between Utari Syaukat and Aghi Naratama when they studied in Seattle. Their music explores acoustic and electronic sound, accompanied by Tari’s voice. Tari often writes lyrics that play with imaginary symbol and irony, besides her personal criticism on daily Jakarta’s urban surroundings. Their first self-titled album (Ape on the Roof, 2003), gained some positive response from music fans in Seattle.
