
About Anthony Halstead
Anthony Halstead (born Manchester, England, 1945) is a British horn player and conductor, a leader in the field of historically informed performance. He is particularly known for his mastery of the natural horn and for his long collaboration with Roy Goodman and the Hanover Band. He studied piano, horn, organ and composition at the Royal Manchester College of Music (now the Royal Northern College of Music) including studying conducting under Sir Charles Mackerras and Michael Roase, but finally specialised in the horn.
