About Andrea Mattioli
Andrea Mattioli (Faenza, October 15, 1611 , baptismal date - Mantua, October 2, 1679) was an Italian composer and presbyter. He became cantor of the metropolitan chapter of the cathedral of Faenza at the age of 16. Ordained a priest, he still worked as a musician. In 1642 he obtained the position of mansionary and chapel master of the Imola Cathedral. In 1650 he became choirmaster at the Accademia dello Spirito Santo in Ferrara , almost entirely
