About Alvin Fielder Trio
Alvin Fielder (November 23, 1935 - January 5, 2019) was an American jazz drummer. He was a founding member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), Black Arts Music Society, Improvisational Arts Trio/Quartet/Quintet, and a founding faculty member of the Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp. Fielder began playing drums at age twelve, heavily influenced by recordings of Max Roach. While a student at Xavier University in New Orleans
