About Alborada
The history of the group begins in 1984 when Sixto Ayvar founded Alborada in his hometown, Ocobamba. His music, basically inspired by the folklore of the Peruvian Andes, was taken by Sixtucha to German lands, finally settling in the city of Colonia. Already there, his musician's ear is broadened by all the genres and styles that coexist in a cosmopolitan city, giving a different sensitivity to the instruments regardless of their origin. Traditional Andean music, in the hands and voices of Alborada, is modernized, renewed.
