Alan Andrews was part of the downtown Manhattan music scene of the mid-1990s. Embracing the "anti-folk" movement that originated during this time, Alan mixed an eclectic brew of influences, from Leonard Cohen, to Tom Waits, to Steve Earle. He recorded two albums, "Alan Andrews" in 1996 and "Cleaned and Pressed" in 1999. Alan was a favorite of WFUV's Meg Griffin and Rita Houston. Vin Scelsa regularly played him on his "Idiot's Delight" program on WNEW.
