
Ablaye MBaye (Abdoulaye Mbaye, Dakar, Senegal, 1981 - 9 January 2017) was a Senegalese singer. Ablaye Mbaye comes from a family of griots. Born blind, Ablaye M'Baye started to sing at age 12 when he was a boarder at the National Institute for the Blind in Thiès, Sénégal. Since then, Ablaye Mbaye has released many albums with several successful songs in Senegal, and in the neighbouring countries. Songs include the hit "Yaay Maag Na" ("Mom, I grew up" in Wolof)
