Yiorgos Kaloudis is a modern cello player who uses his personal technique and different timbres of the instrument to produce a post-modern and ambient, alternative environment with classical and jazz elements. More recently, as influenced by his Cretan background, he has added the Cretan lyra to his performances bringing to it his technical understandings of cello bowing and also the innovative addition of a fourth string, the low C of the cello.
