Wang Ying (Chinese: 王穎; pinyin: Wáng Yǐng; born September 10, 1976) is a Chinese composer. Wang Ying was born in Shanghai, China. She began her musical education at the age of four, receiving piano lessons from her father, the composer Wang Xilin. At the Shanghai Conservatory of Music she studied composition with Gang Chen, Daqun Jia and instrumentation with Yang Liqin, completing a bachelor's degree with honors in 2002. In 2003 she moved to Cologne
