About Wincenty Lilius

Wincenty Lilius (also: Vincenzo Gigli , Lilio ) (born around 1570 in Rome, died 1636 in Warsaw) was a Polish composer of Italian origin. Lilius was first a member of the archducal chapel in Graz before he joined the court chapel of King Sigismund III from around 1596. Wasa found a job in Kraków . From 1609 he worked in the court orchestra in Warsaw, which was conducted by Marco Scacchi from 1630. 1639 Lilius was mentioned for the last time in the accounts of the court.
