
William Russo (25th June 1928–11th January 2003) was an American musician and composer. Born in Chicago, he wrote ground-breaking orchestral scores for the Stan Kenton Orchestra in the 1950s, and also composed non-jazz (though often jazz-influenced) pieces, including two symphonies, one of which was premiered by Leonard Bernstein.
