Canadian songwriter Sid Marty has teamed up with Alberta musicians Jim McLennan, Joe Cunningham and James Van Leeuwen to present new Alberta roots music. Sid’s musical roots in Alberta stretch back to the days of Calgary’s Depression coffee house, a time when there were no folk music clubs or festivals in Alberta, a time when people reacted with hostility to singers who insisted on playing their own songs! Sid found a welcoming audience at the Montreal Folk Workshop and Blue Lantern Coffee House during his student days.
