Valkana Stoyanova was a Bulgarian folk singer and performer of Thracian folk songs. Valkana Stoyanova was born in the village of Lyulin, Yambol region, on July 13, 1922. She was the youngest child in a large family, of which 4 were adopted and 6 were born. The singer claims that she inherited her singing skills from both her parents, as well as from one of her father's brothers, who was a priest and had an amazingly beautiful voice. The singer's large repertoire of songs is a legacy mostly from her mother
