About Vincenzo Komnen

There are no relevant data on the life of Vincenzo Komnen of Dubrovnik. In his romanticised (auto)biography we find three madrigals on the same text ´Vaghe Nimfeª which represent the only preserved piece of music in Dubrovnik from this period. An interesting personality connected with Dubrovnik is Vinzenzo Comnen (also known as Vincentius Comnenus and Vinćenc Komnen). He was born in the small village of Slani in Istria, near Ragusa under the family name Piranese.
