Venus in Fear play traditional progressive metal in a similar mold of Dream Theater, Vanden Plas, Haken, etc. They have a female soprano singer in Noga Kedem and they incorporate a lot of Middle-Eastern folk elements into their songwriting. The band has some really stellar guitar and keyboard work. But most of all their songwriting is top notch. They have released only one album yet in The Dot Above the Eye, which was five years in the making.
