Hailing from Japan, Uhs received the baptism of hip-hop culture during his early high school years. Taking up digging and DJing at a tender age, he soon became devoted to underground hip-hop and the break beat scene. After purchasing an MPC and starting to focus on his own production, Uhs also started his own night "soak", in downtown Tokyo. Distributing free promo CDs on the street, record stores and in clubs soon saw the night's popularity rapidly
