A brief history TripManhattan is the musical reincarnation of StripLight which was formed in late 2005 when Simon Hudson, Nigel Downes and Dave Marritt split from their previous band, 'Trusted' and joined with Andy Smith and Jane Watkins. A name change become necessary in spring 2006 when a London band of the same name signed a record contract, at which point TripManhattan was born. In late 2006 Jane accepted an offer of work in Spain for 6 months
