Started in 2008, Trees To Sleep Under is a solo project that documents not only the music of Eric Velander, but also the experience. His self-titled debut tells the story of him leaving his home of Omaha, Nebraska to join the US military and all the complications that accompanied it—from anxiety to alcoholism. And although there is only one word uttered on the entire album, this is not a piece of music lacking in emotion: every song is a story from a different point of view.
