About Tinkers
The Honky Tinkers were one of the hottest live acts between 1986 and 1992. Hailing from the Southend-on-Sea area, the band played many hundreds of gigs, from local clubs, pubs and colleges, through to London Universities and venues such as Dingwalls, the Rock Garden and the Town & Country Club. The music started as standard British R'n'B, through classic soul, rare groove and finally hard funk. As the music changed, so did the personnel and band name.
