After a brief career in physics, American-born composer Timothy Page left the U.S. for Helsinki, Finland on a Fulbright grant to study composition at the Sibelius Academy. He wound up putting down roots, continuing his studies from 2002-2008 with Veli-Matti Puumala, and firmly establishing himself in Finland’s contemporary music scene. Page’s ouvre has recently coalesced around interests in stylistic heterophony, with pieces that open windows into multiple aesthetics without sacrificing consistency of voice.
