British Singer/songwriter Thomas Yates made a seemingly forgotten but excellent 1967 album Second City Spiritual in the vein of Bob Dylan, Tom Rapp, Arlo Guthrie, Phil Ochs, etc, released on CBS, with mainly acoustic guitar and sparse additional instrumentation. His follow-up Love Comes Well Armed was released in 1973. His 3rd album Song of the Shimmering Way from 1977 has a softer feeling and "baroque pop" orchestrations.
