
Clarence Earl Scott (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., 13 December 1937 - 7 May 2018) was an American doo-wop singer and songwriter. While a member of the Valets he wrote and sang lead for the song “Sherry”. Known to many as Scotty, he was born to the late Carrie Ann and Mitchell Scott on December 13, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Scotty was educated in the Philadelphia public school system, which he left early to help tend to his siblings.
