About The Urchin Barren
The Urchin Barren was founded in the summer of 2008 by Alex te Amo, Jon Frost, and Ryan Hansen. Writing began immediately and flowed quickly. Soon after, there was a fresh batch of song skeletons to work with. In February of 2009 James Chanthanao joined the band, completing and complementing Jon’s rhythm section. Writing and arranging commenced through spring and summer of ’09 with the first pre-production recordings being completed in august of that year.
