About The Temperance Seven
The Temperance Seven were founded on Christmas 1955. The three founding members were Paul McDowell, Philip Harrison and Brian Innes. The band evolved into a nine-piece ensemble with a light-hearted and humorous performing style. The name "Temperance Seven" is a subtle play on words: the number seven being "one under the eight". That there were nine members or "one over the eight" implied intemperance. They have links to Monty Python and the Rolling Stones. Official site: http://www.thetemperanceseven.co.uk/.
