Band asal Bandung, Indonesia ini dibentuk pada tahun 1997 semasa para personelnya masih duduk di bangku SMA. Nama THE S.I.G.I.T. sendiri baru dipakai pada tahun 2002. Tahun 2004 mereka membuat demo EP berisi 6 lagu. Sebelumnya pada awal karier, mereka kerap manggung di acara-acara kampus. The S.I.G.I.T adalah singkatan dari "The Super Insurgent Group ofIntemperance Talent". The S.I.G.I.T. merupakan potret band indie yang melek teknologi dengan memanfaatkan situs jejaring sosial untuk mengenalkan lagu-lagu mereka.
