About The Strangers Almanac
The Strangers Almanac is the folk-pop project of Dundee based songwriter Gord Matheson and multi-instrumentalist Avril Smart. After a string of home-recorded releases, Gord put out 2009's 'Car Boat Sail' LP, an attempt at chronicling a round-the-world trip and the breakup of a relationship. Over the next two years, Gord and Avril played many shows, sometimes as a duo but occasionally with a full band, and have supported the likes of Esperi, The Hazey Janes, RM Hubbert, Mersault and FOUND.
