About The Snowy Owls
Richmond, VA (2007 – present) A mix of jangle, drone and swirl in the tradition of noise-poppers like Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, and My Bloody Valentine, Snowy Owls blend daydreaming melodies over washes of fuzzed out guitar. The interlocking guitar lines and hushed vocals are deceptively infectious, like a pop-beast lurking in the shadows. On stage they strike a balance between levity and ferocity. The band was born in 2007 as the meandering solo project of multi-instrumentalist Matt Klimas (Low Branches).
