About The Simpletons
The Simpletons were the quintessential Aussie rock band. They formed in Lismore in 1992, gained a cult following around the country, and played a major role in establishing indie label, Candle Records. Their sad demise was a metaphor for the Aussie live music scene in the mid-late 90s. One phoenix did rise from the ashes - as Darren Hanlon went solo... Frontman Cheyne Gelagin passed away in 2003 and a tribute to him can be found at www.shanegelagin.com.
