Ohio's "The Rubes", play a convincing brand of 70s influenced rock, on their debut CD, "Hokum". Recorded in just 2 days in September of '01, this is a remarkably polished disc. Vocalist William Mace, has a great set of pipes for this type of Near- Stoner-Rock music. He comes across as sounding like one of those great bluesy rock singers from 30 years ago, crossed with (I know this is an odd comparison, but that's what I heard) Corey Glover from the defunct "Living Colour".
