After leaving The Grass Roots in 1976 Reggie Knighton inked a solo deal with CBS Records. His debut album, entitled REGGIE KNIGHTON, hit the shelves in 1977. This 10 song disc juxtaposed catchy pop melodies (such as Drug Dealer and Girl From Pluto) with some far out lyrical storytelling. In 1978, Reggie released his sophomore effort, THE REGGIE KNIGHTON BAND, and used his touring band rather than studio musicians to record his songs. Producer Roy Thomas Baker was recruited to oversee the sessions.
