About The Pickard Family
The Pickard Family led by father Obed Pickard, the Pickards were a popular family act throughout the first half of the 20th century, first singing sentimental ballads on the Grand Ole Opry in 1926 and then moving on to urban areas such as Detroit and Chicago to spread the country influence to city dwellers. Their repertoire was as wholesome as they come, blending ballads with cowpoke songs like "Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie." They remained a popular act for several decades
