The Panik were amongst the first wave of British punk rock bands in the 1970s. Formed in Manchester, the band released their only EP "It Won't Sell" in 1977. The Ep contained three songs: "Urban Politics", "Modern Damnation" and "Murder". The Panik are possibly best recalled now as contemporaries of the band Warsaw, who would later become Joy Division. Joy Division singer Ian Curtis nearly joined The Panik before deciding to continue with Warsaw.
