About The Omagh Community Youth Choir
The Omagh Community Youth Choir formed in 1998, in the wake of a devastating terrorist bombing in Omagh. Local music student Daryl Simpson, worked together with other music students and musicians: Catholics, Protestants, and other citizens. The choir provided some comfort in those dark days, and quickly became a positive effort, working for peace in Northern Ireland. The choir received international acclaim, with their music reaching audiences around the globe. Some of the biggest names in music have worked and recorded with the choir.
