About The No Real Need
The No Real Need is the brainchild of Steve Hewitt, a songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. In December 2007, Steve (guitars, bass, vocals) and his brother Mark (drums) traveled to Kent, Ohio to work with producer Todd Tobias (Guided by Voices, Robert Pollard) on the group's debut record, a completely self funded effort. The result was 'Thistles Where We Slept', which "subtly channels the spirit of Guided By Voices and the cerebral crunch of Wire.
