Randy Frey and Chris McMillen met in film school in the midwest before embarking on the cross-country adventure to Hollywood along historic Route 66, guitars and ukulele in tow, where ultimately The Nightrats were founded in a series of cheap hotel rooms, the sounds pulled from early David Bowie and John Cale records. Time and circumstance eventually relocated The Nightrats to New York, where after gigging in some of the area's more highly-esteemed venues
