The Moon and The Melodies was a collaboration between Harold Budd, Elizabeth Fraser, Robin Guthrie & Simon Raymonde (the latter trio better known as Cocteau Twins), released in November 1986. It also features saxophone work by Richard Thomas (of Cocteau labelmates Dif Juz). "The project actually started out as a television documentary," explained Simon. "But when funding fell through, we all thought the material was too good to scrap, so we decided to release it as an album.
