About The Montgomery Clifts
Formed in the short, damp summer of 1986, The Montgomery Clifts (Andy Bevan, Jeremy Purches, Myles Crampton and Dave Burbidge) decided that the only way to hear decent pop music was to write it themselves. Thus, armed with a pocketful of pop gems, they made their shambolic debut in downtown Bristol, resurfacing at 6am on a winters morning at an open-air free festival in Cornwall, collecting and discarding various horn sections, string sections, backing vocalists and cellists
