The Marksmen, April 1966: Lyle McLean (lead guitar), Bob Kerr (vocals), Tony Markham (drums), Danny Coutts (rhythm guitar), Neil Porter (bass) – This is the line-up that plays on the But Why/Moonshine recordings. The Marksmen were a surf band from the town of Wollongong near Sydney, not to be confused with the instrumental group from Melbourne called the Marksmen who released singles on the W & G label in the early ’60s.
