About The Major Thinkers
The Major Thinkers was an early 80s new wave rock band formed in New York, USA, by Irish musicians Pierce Turner and Larry Kirwan (subsequently frontman of Black 47). The rest of the band was Peter Collins (bass) and Thomas Hamlin (drums). Though based in NYC, they were signed to Phaeton Records in Ireland. Recording one album, the band split around 1985. Turner developed a solo career; Kirwan subsequently became frontman of Black 47.
