It all began for The Lyricist Law, born Kevin Kelley, when he lived in New York. "You had the stoop and the courts and not much else... I was short so basketball wasn't exactly my favorite thing out of the two. Now on the stoop alot could be done, shit almost everything was done on the stoop.
