From 1990 until 1995, The Lovemeknots were Indianapolis, Indiana's band next door: an unpretentious group whose regular-guy demeanor belied strong songwriting and earnest performance skills. Best described as a noisy pop band, the Lovemeknots gigged steadily around the Midwest, earning comparisons to groups as diverse as Yo La Tengo, The Bats and The Wipers. Though regular gigs are a thing of the distant past, the Lovemeknots occasionally reunite to kill a case of Hamm's and make some quaint, old-timey racket.
