The Lincoln Park Zoo was originally called the Classic VI and changed its name in 1967. The band members included Denny Murray (drums and percussion), Tommy Murray (Trumpet and lead singer), Wayne Nykodem (guitar), Arvydas (Arvy) Tumosa (Bass guitar) and Bob Walicki (Saxophone). The Zoo was one of the first Chicago bands to use brass. Everyone in the group had strong musical backgrounds and training. The Zoo's popularity was driven by unique vocals and the use of brass writing creative arrangements of cover material.
