About The Laughing Gravy
The Laughing Gravy was a 1967 side project of Dean Torrence of Jan and Dean that only released one single. After Brian Wilson had abandoned work on the album SMiLE, he gave the song "Vegetables", originally slated for SMiLE to Dean Torrence. Torrence then proceeded to record the song himself under the name The Laughing Gravy as a single. The "Vegetables" single was backed with an instrumental called "Snow Flakes On Laughing Gravy's Whiskers". Torrence then assembled a group of musicians and briefly toured as The Laughing Gravy.
