The Knockabouts refers to at least 2 artists: 1) The Knockabouts formed in Huntsville in 1982 and split in 1986. They were one of Alabama's first Hardcore bands, sharing the distinction with Birmingham's Blue Cheer-meets-thrash Grossest National Product (GNP), one of Alabama's other Hardcore originators who still play to this day. The Knockabouts played inventive old school Hardcore along the lines of Circle Jerks with a UK vocal influence and Surf-influenced guitar.
