About The Joy Strings
The Joystrings formed in 1963 & all members were in the Salvation Army in the UK. Major Joy Webb (Joy was a Captain at the time) is listed as the founder of the Joystrings. "It's an open Secret' entered the charts in 1964 & rose to the dizzy heights of 32. Not bad for a Christian beat group! However, the only other minor hit they had was with a Christmas song, 'A Starry Night' - which peaked at 34 in the UK charts Christmas1965. The main members of the group were: Bill Davidson
