Formed in that most inauspicious of cities Peterborough, lying beside the barren featureless fens wasteland of East Anglia, the stark nature of a metropolis pushed against the standpoint of rolling agricultural plains underscores the contrast in the old and new. Performing blistering sets of serious, some might say dark, brooding soul jazz that gives more than just a passing nod to that predecessor called Hard bop, it seems hardly surprising given the gritty origins.
