Brothers Andrew and Tom Pawelski, Nick Chevillet, and Joby Kaslowski cite Motown and the British Invasion as primary influences, coupled with modern acts like The Walkmen and French Kicks. In 2011, The HGs hit the studio to record Three Cheers for the Wonder Years – an EP mixed by Kevin McMahon (Real Estate, Titus Andronicus) and released by Sound Artifacts Music.
