About The Group
At least five different groups have recorded under name "The Group". 1. The Group was a Finnish progressive rock group, which was formed by Pekka Pohjola year 1977. In addition to bassist Pohjola, other members of the band were Olli Ahvenlahti (keyboards), Seppo Tyni (guitars) and Vesa Aaltonen (drums). In 1979 Olli Ahvenlahti left the group and the rest of the band continued under name Pekka Pohjola Group. 2. The Group a.k.a. Group Grope, a Boston area experimental Garage Punk band from 1979.
