The Gay Apparel? We were a lo-fi noise-pop outfit that recorded in shady studios in downtown St. Paul and NE Minneapolis from 2001-2003. Sonically somewhere between Surfer Rosa and Magical Mystery Tour, we gave lo-fi a good name with an ironic band name. Although never actually performing live, The Gay Apparel's legacy lives on in demo recordings and an unexplained word-of-mouth buzz. The band was formed by Mason Butler [vocals, guitar, keyboards] and Jesse Miller [bass] in the Fall of 2001
